A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing an elopement! Brennan has been traveling between St. Louis and Europe for work for the last several months, and Sarah will be joining him in November. They decided to go ahead and elope to make the work visa process easier and smoother. Sarah and Brennan will return to St. Louis next September and have a bigger wedding to celebrate with friends and family. :)
I had the privilege of photographing this sweet little family last weekend. Ruthie is the cutest little girl, 13 months old and on a mission! There was no slowing down, unless she was stopping to pick another dandelion. ;)
Amanda started taking classes at a local boxing gym a couple of years ago; she expected a great workout, but never imagined finding her future husband there. Amanda and Romeze had a couple of classes together and after a few friendly encounters, Amanda invited Romeze to grab a drink after class. The rest as they say, was history. I met up with Amanda and Romeze last week for their engagement session, it only made sense to take a few photos were it all began. I love these pics! There was something about the boxing ring that seemed better in black and white, I love how they turned out! Amanda and Romeze thanks for braving the cold wind that day, here's hoping the weather will be better in June! :)
When I photograph families my overall goal is to capture love. As cheesy as that may sound, its true. I'm not focusing on having everyone look at the camera, I'd rather capture the connection they share with each other...which also brings out natural smiles, happiness and joy. Its my goal to capture families as they are, in whatever season of life they are in...even the crazy toddler moments when it feels like total chaos! These are the memories that will bring a smile to your face twenty years down the road. I love this family session. Such a fun family full of love and happiness...and craziness with two small boys. :)

Kristin had her heart broken in college and swore she'd never love again, then she met Shawn. They met at work and a casual friendship turned into so much more. As Kristin's sister mentioned in her toast, "he taught her how to love again, they are perfect for one another." Kristin and Shawn were married at the Park Avenue Mansion, a very simple, small and intimate wedding in front of immediate family and a few close friends. I know I've said it before but its worth repeating, I am so grateful for my loyal clients. I am honored each time a couple has me photograph their wedding and then again for newborn and family pictures. It's always a blessing for me to watch their families evolve and I'm so happy to capture all of their milestones. I photographed Alison and Clay's engagement photos, Henry's newborn and 6 month photos...and here we are at one year already. Gosh, time flies! I met Callie five years ago when I photographed her sister Chelsea's wedding. I was thrilled when Callie called and told me that she was engaged and wanted me as her wedding photographer too! Last weekend I held my first ever Mama & Me mini sessions. I'm so grateful for these mama's and their kiddos, I know it's not always easy stepping in front of the camera. ;)
I can't believe that one month of the new year is already gone! It's been kind of a busy month. I tried a couple of new (to me) film stocks, Agfa Vista and Fuji Natura. I was impressed with both of them and will use them again in the future! Ella and I both celebrated birthdays. It's still hard for me to grasp that she is two already?! She's been on a Winnie the Pooh kick lately so we had a Pooh party. ;) Maggie was excited to have a snow day a couple of weeks ago and the girls enjoyed playing outside. January was a good month...bring on February! :)
A dear friend of mine and his wife recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. I was so excited when they asked if I would take some photos of them to commemorate this moment. They are so very much in love and still act like teenagers who just started dating. I love that about them. Congrats Jon & Tippi and here's to 30 more years! Love you! :)
